Code of Conduct and Terms of Participation
The Threads of Life Member Portal (hereafter referred to as "Member Portal") maintains this web forum as a service to Canadian families affected by workplace tragedy. Its purpose is to advance our mission.
The mission of Threads of Life is to help families heal through a community of support and to promote the elimination of life altering workplace injuries, illness and deaths.
This site was established to provide an environment for its members to seek advice, share personal experiences, and to build a supportive community. Users are encouraged to utilize this service responsibly and to demonstrate courtesy and respect. By accessing the Member Portal, you agree to abide by the Code of Conduct and Terms of Participation.
If you do not wish to be bound by this Code of Conduct and Terms of Participation, do not access or use the site.
Member Portal administrators and moderators (the “Site Administrators”) reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to remove any material the Site Administrators consider, at their sole discretion, to be objectionable or terminate any person’s access to the Member Portal whose conduct or use in any way of the Member Portal the Site Administrators consider, at their sole discretion, to be in contravention of the Code of Conduct and Terms of Participation.
Summary Code of Conduct and Terms of Participation
1. You will use the Member Portal in the spirit of the group's mission.
2. You will not abuse the information provided by reselling it, by using it for commercial or political mass mailings or to invade the privacy of others through unwelcome communications.
3. You will in no way act or communicate with threat or hostility, or attempt to alter information or communications that do not belong to you.
4. You will not post or transmit objectionable material and will communicate courteously and with regard to the feelings of others.
5. You will observe and obey the rules of copyright and personal property.
6. You will not use the Member Portal for illegal activities.
7. You agree to observe all copyrights and limitations on use of the Member Portal and the information posted on it. All images and biographies are the property of the participants who have posted them. Members may use them only with the express written permission of the posting participant. No other use of this information is authorized or sanctioned.
8. You will not create any links to this site from any other site. This site contains outside links only to sites of interest to our members. To respect the privacy of participants who have posted images and biographical information, do not create any shortcuts to this portion of our site. Password protection will be in place.
